RIDING / RENT IT FIRST

Yongsan Vespa rental review:
a whole day
for the price of 4 hours.

I rented a Vespa GTS 125 SUPER from Artefine Yongsan Lounge (아르테파인 용산 라운지). Shorter rentals were an option, but the rate I was quoted was the same from 4 hours up to 24.

01 / WHY THIS PICK

You can rent briefly, or stretch it to a day.

To rent a Vespa in Yongsan I used Artefine Yongsan Lounge (아르테파인 용산 라운지). I liked that many models can be rented by the hour, which means you can take a model you’re curious about for a short ride.

The model I chose was the Vespa GTS 125 SUPER. My booking ran 24 hours, from 7 pm on Friday 16 October to 7 pm on Saturday 17 October.

The weekend and public-holiday rate I was quoted for 125 cc and under was ₩23,000 for 1 hour, and the same ₩90,000 from 4 hours up to 24. So I rented for 24 hours. If you plan a short ride, compare the hourly rates; if you plan to use it longer, compare against the day rate.

Weekend and public-holiday rates I was quoted · 125 cc and under
Rental timeFee
1 hour₩23,000
2 hours₩46,000
3 hours₩69,000
4 to 24 hours₩90,000

Based on what I was told during my rental on 2026-10-16 to 17. The official price list I checked on 2026-10-18 shows ₩90,000 for an A1 (125 cc and under) weekend overnight rental, and the model page shows ₩23,000 per hour. The same rate from 4 to 24 hours and the public-holiday terms are what I was told at the time; check booking dates, models and pick-up and return terms with the shop again. The shop’s pages are in Korean.

02 / WHAT I SPENT

Including fuel, I spent ₩106,000.

The booking was ₩90,000. I spent another ₩9,000 on the balaclava required to rent a full-face helmet, and fuel before returning the bike was ₩7,000.

What I actually spent on this rental
ItemAmount
24-hour rental fee quoted as including insurance₩90,000
Balaclava₩9,000
Fuel before return₩7,000
Total₩106,000

The terms were to refill what you used before returning. I rented for 24 hours, but as far as I remember I actually rode for about 6 to 8 hours. Fuel costs depend on distance and how much you ride.

The total covers the rental fee, balaclava and fuel; meals and the like are separate. Insurance was included, but check the coverage and excess in the shop’s insurance information (Korean) and your actual contract.

03 / BRING THIS NEXT TIME

Gloves and a helmet were provided; charging was the gap.

On this rental I could borrow gloves and a full-face helmet for free. A balaclava is required to borrow the full-face helmet, so I spent ₩9,000 on one. A phone mount was also provided.

MY NEXT PICK

A mount is not a charger.
Next time, phone battery first.

The inconvenience was that the Vespa I rented had no phone charging cable. Being able to put the phone on the mount didn’t solve charging. Next time I’ll ask first whether a charging cable is provided and bring a power bank too.

Gear and extra costs are based on this rental. Check whether charging cables and gear are provided, and what they cost, when you book.

04 / WHERE I WENT

I rode to two places this time.

Bukak Skyway (북악스카이웨이)

One of the places I actually rode to from Yongsan. If you’re wondering where to ride in Seoul, I leave it here as a candidate to look into.

Sihwanarae rest area, Ansan (시화나래휴게소)

The other destination was the Sihwanarae rest area in Danwon-gu, Ansan, Gyeonggi-do. You can check the location on the K-water Sihwanarae page (Korean).

This is a record of two places I went, not a route guide with an order or connecting roads. Before setting off, check the roads you’ll use and any closures that day, and choose destinations that suit your riding experience and schedule.

Visit memo, Sihwanarae rest area: cigarette sales

On this visit I asked staff about buying cigarettes and was told they are not sold. This is what I was told in person during my rental on 2026-10-16 to 17, and it may change later.

05 / BEFORE YOU BOOK

If I rent again, I’ll look at these three things first.

  1. Compare how long I’ll ride against the day rate. For a short ride on a model I’m curious about, hourly rental; for longer use, the pick-up and return times together with the day rate.
  2. Check the gear I can borrow and the extra costs. Not just the helmet, gloves, balaclava and mount, but phone charging too.
  3. Check the fuel to refill on return and the contract terms. Keep fuel as a separate budget, and before booking confirm eligibility, insurance coverage, the excess and return terms in the shop’s information and the contract.

My reasons were that many models can be rented by the hour, and that when I rented, the 4-hour and 24-hour rates were the same. Next time I’ll again decide how long I’ll ride and what gear to prepare before renting.
